Urban Street Angels has opened HarborTAY near downtown San Diego. Working with the Lucky Duck Foundation, the David C. Copley Foundation, the County of San Diego, and the Regional Task Force on Homelessness, we turned a 34-room motel into 54 beds for young people ages 18 to 24 who are overcoming homelessness.

MORE THAN A BED

HarborTAY opened in July 2026: thirty-four rooms near the County Administration Center and Waterfront Park, converted into transitional housing for young people ages 18 to 24 who are overcoming homelessness.

Each room has a kitchenette and a private bath. Residents also receive food, basic necessities, wraparound case management, peer support, and career development through our Padres 5-Tool Trade Academy. Most stay six to nine months, long enough to find steady work and a place of their own. The building holds 54 beds and can serve nearly 100 young people a year.

HarborTAY exists because several organizations moved at once. The Lucky Duck Foundation and the David C. Copley Foundation provided start-up funding to activate the rooms. The County of San Diego and the Regional Task Force on Homelessness fund ongoing operations.
