The San Diego Padres believe in supporting San Diego on and off the field. This program puts those values into action. Urban Street Angels has been dedicated to ending youth homelessness in San Diego for over 15 years.
TRAINING FOR SUCCESS
The Padres 5-Tool Trade Academy is a workforce development program built to save and transform the lives of homeless youth. In partnership with the San Diego Padres, Urban Street Angels has built a program that gives young unhoused adults the skills, certifications, and confidence to launch meaningful careers in trades.
In baseball, a 5-tool player can do it all: hit for average, hit for power, run the bases, throw with precision, and field any ball that comes their way. At this life-defining Academy, we believe every young person has that same potential.
FIVE TOOLS FOR SUCCESS
Through the 5-Tool Trade Academy, participants develop the skills they need to enter San Diego’s workforce. Our program focuses on hands-on training, industry certifications, financial literacy, and mentorship. Currently with 11 partner schools and companies with 22 pathways, these standards equip participants with everything they need to succeed as they find their passion and create their future.
